What made Danone start the transformation around the four axes of PEAK®?

We decided to start our PEAK® transformation because there is a permanent concern in us: we want to be leaders and remain leaders. This required humility and the awareness to recognize that we need to change and constantly adapt. We had to make faster, more collaborative decisions, and that sparked our need for a culture where speed was part of our DNA. We operate in a demanding environment with a very high level of expectations, which forces us to challenge ourselves and make changes without losing sight of who we are as a company.
We are very aware that PEAK®, ActioGlobal’s transformation model, is a change in the way of working but above all in the mentality.
There is a need for us to change, to develop our mentality, to become more courageous and not be afraid of doing things, since making mistakes is part of learning.
In this regard, the four PEAK® axes have helped us focus on how we can be more agile, how we can adapt faster, how we can be more efficient to make more collaborative decisions, and how we can be more focused on results, i.e., they help us prioritize, collaborate, execute, and learn together.

What is the leadership role for you to give teams the power to make an impact?

As leaders, we must inspire our teams toward a common purpose and also be inspired by them. We need to be attentive to everything we do because we are role models for how we do it. I think it’s important here to refer to the principle of individual responsibility. Each of us is responsible for our role. To be the best, we need the best from each individual, and everyone must feel his/her responsibility to contribute.
Empowering people means helping them to live in the present and in the future, not in the past. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t learn from the past, because we do have learned from the past, and with that knowledge we must move toward what we have to do in the future with determination and full confidence. Our challenge and our responsibility as leaders of a company is to give meaning to our common future.
The opportunity that PEAK® gives us is what I call “safety free”. PEAK® gives us this protective network that allows us to put this transformation into practice, to learn it without losing focus on the business, without losing the obsession we all share to achieve what we reach for. We are all here to co-build this path and learn together.
